".
Does Ganoderma lucidum have any regulatory effect on insomnia? What is the scientific basis for Ganoderma lucidum to maintain beauty and keep young? It boils down to the most important role of Ganoderma lucidum on the human body - supporting healthy energy!
One survey shows that at least 300 million people in China now have sleep disorders. Long-term insomnia can easily lead to memory loss, inattention and mental anxiety. Is Ganoderma lucidum with so many medicinal effects also helpful for insomnia? Is there any record that proves the effect of Ganoderma lucidum in this respect in history?
Lin Zhibin: The answer is very positive! Shen Nong's Materia Medica, Compendium of Materia Medica and many
ancient medical books have all mentioned some of the sayings that Ganoderma lucidum can
increase wisdom and so on. These claims are actually what we are talking about
now that Ganoderma lucidum can calm or hypnotize or improve sleep. If you sleep badly
for two days, it doesn't matter. If you have long-term insomnia, the function
of the gastrointestinal tract will become weak and your appetite will be bad ,
and even the endocrine function will become abnormal.
In fact, to cure long-term neurasthenia and insomnia, the patient needs to regulate the nerves and endocrine immune function because Ganoderma lucidum has a wide range of effects and can enhance immune function, regulate the nervous system and improve endocrine function. If he sleeps well, his physical conditions get improved. But Ganoderma lucidum can not be used as a sedative-hypnotic, it is a regulator. Its adjustment can be called steady state regulation, that is to say, it can restore your body function to a normal and stable state.
Ganoderma lucidum has a regulating effect on insomnia. What is the main component in Ganoderma lucidum that cures neurasthenia? Are there any clinical examples?
Lin Zhibin: This has also been done in our pharmacological research. For example, the polysaccharides contained in the fruiting body extracts of Ganoderma lucidum have certain sedative and hypnotic effects. In pharmacological experiments, we found that its action point lies in the benzodiazepine receptor, which is the sedative-hypnotic that everyone may have eaten, like diazepam and estazolam. Acted. It is now very certain that Ganoderma lucidum can promote sleep through this receptor, but it is less effective than the pure ingredients contained in diazepam and estazolam because the Ganoderma lucidum mentioned here is still a crude product.
In addition, it has also been found that Ganoderma lucidum has an effect on depression or anxiety. Animal experiments and pharmacological experiments have found that Ganoderma lucidum can reduce the anxiety of patients with various diseases including cancer. Now the research has found its point of action lies in the serotonin receptor in the central nervous system. Ganoderma lucidum can antagonize the action of serotonin receptors, so this means that Ganoderma lucidum improves sleep or tension, anxiety and depression. This efficacy is scientifically based indeed!
At present, the use of Ganoderma lucidum to maintain beauty and keep young in Southeast Asian countries has formed a trend. Can Professor Lin say that the scientific basis of Ganoderma lucidum in this respect?
Lin Zhibin: It should be mainly because it has the effect of anti-oxidation and scavenging free radicals.
Since ancient times, Ganoderma lucidum has been considered to have the role of immortality and anti-aging. In fact, the scientific basis of its anti-aging effect is mainly relevant to resist oxidation and scavenge free radicals. Because oxidation or free radicals in the body can cause damage to cells or organs, the role of Ganoderma lucidum is still obvious in this respect. In addition, this function of Ganoderma lucidum to improve immunity is also important for anti-aging.
In the aspect of maintaining beauty, more and more people now choose to use medicated diets to regulate their bodies. In addition to being used as finished drugs, can Ganoderma lucidum also be used for meals?
Lin Zhibin: Because Ganoderma lucidum now is also classified as agricultural products, it can be put into the dishes to make medicated diets. It can be used for cooking or stewing. But you should be aware of the bitterness of Ganoderma lucidum. If you want to add Ganoderma lucidum into the food, you should add the right amount. Otherwise, an excess amount will make the dish become bitter and not delicious at all. But if you decoct Ganoderma lucidum, you may put the rest of the dregs into the dish because the dregs have a certain aroma of Ganoderma lucidum. And the dish will be not bitter.
Professor Lin has studied Ganoderma for more than 40 years. It can also be said that Professor Lin has witnessed the development of the entire Ganoderma industry in China. What are the common Ganoderma products?
Lin Zhibin: I generally prefer Ganoderma lucidum slices for health care. Slices are called Traditional Chinese Medicine decoction pieces according to Chinese medicine. Ganoderma lucidum slices belong to traditional Chinese medicine decoction pieces, which need to be officially submitted for approval. Traditional Chinese medicine decoction pieces can be boiled in water or soaked in hot tea. In this case, the active ingredients in Ganoderma lucidum are extracted and drunk by you, which is best for health care. For example, when I go out to take the high-speed rail, the vacuum cup always contains soaked Ganoderma lucidum. Then I drink Lingzhi instead of tea along the way, which is more convenient.
In addition, the product made of Ganoderma lucidum extract or Ganoderma lucidum spore powder, after production, processing and sales, the price may be more expensive than the decoction piece just mentioned, but its effect is better because it has been well extracted and you needn't rely on your body to process it. The choice of Ganoderma slices or Ganoderma extract should be subject to your physical condition of each stage.
In addition, the production process of Ganoderma lucidum products
should be very strict and scientific. It depends on the brand which also
represents the technological level and credibility of this enterprise. The
customers should consider these factors when choosing Ganoderma products.
In your opinion, what is the most important role of Ganoderma
lucidum for our human body?
Lin Zhibin: In fact, the most important role of Ganoderma
lucidum is to help support the healthy energy.
At the beginning of the study of Ganoderma lucidum, we took a detour by studying
Ganoderma lucidum according to Western medicine.
Later, we changed to integrate Traditional Chinese Medicine
and Western Medicine, that is, by using modern scientific methods and combining
the theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine and clinical practices. Through this
research, we learned about supporting the healthy energy and changed the research direction in the 1970s. We quickly established a
hypothesis that Ganoderma lucidum can help support the healthy energy.
Let's assume what functions it might have, so we hypothesized that Ganoderma
lucidum may enhance immune function, enhance the function of important organs
such as heart, brain, liver, kidney and lung, or improve the function of
regulating them. A hypothesis was established. After decades of pharmacological
research, including clinical research, I finally went back and proved that this
hypothesis is correct.
So in my current opinion, the function that Ganoderma
lucidum can support the healthy energy is based on the fact that it can enhance
immune function and enhance important organ systems in the body such as heart,
brain, liver, kidney and endocrine organs. When these functions are abnormal, Ganoderma
lucidum can restore them back to normal by adjustment.
